Treatment and recovery of valuable metals for copper industry waste

Through the DIGISER ++ project, we are going to industrially scale up the application of our technology to the specific treatment of wastes with significant percentages of copper and zinc that are generated by Atlantic Copper, a leading company in the production of refined copper from mineral.

The project consortium includes the whole value chain for the development, validation and commercialization of the technology. Specifically, TECNALIA and CEA will lead technological development, while the environmental and economic impact of the application of this technology in the copper production process will be studied by Swedish Environmental Research Institute (ILV) and all the knowledge generated will be transferred to the community and the different group of stakeholders by Ghent University through innovative online training courses.

DIGIMET, that has the support of the Deep Tech Venture Builder TECNALIA Ventures, will be the responsible of the commercialization of the technology through the Go-to-Market (GTM) assessment developed in the project.

This project has received funding from the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) of the European Commission in the framework of HORIZON 2020.
